Ume are fermented plums and are the ultimate samurai snack. An Orchard of the superfood ume was first discovered in the samurai era of Japan and were very popular since the samurai who ate it claimed extremely powerful effects after consuming it. The Samurai used to carry pouches of pickled plum before they went into battle. It was able to revive the warriors, give an extra energy boost, and even bring them back to life. Samurais consumed it on the battlefield at any time of day to give them the strength and health that they needed to win the battle.
